I had Mastitis with all 3 of my boys and the last baby was when I had the actual abcess and it was very painful but I continued to nurse him, honestly its the only way to relief the pain and help your body heal more quickly.

Mastitis is very painful. I have not breastfed for about 10 years, but I got a real bad case? of mastitis. My abscess was the size of a golf ball. They drained it on Monday and. they put me to sleep for that. I am still on I.V. treatment for that. I got to the hospital 3 times a day.

before it actually got bad, but of cause they kept saying, your engouraged. B/c I was producing too much milk. It has totally turned me away from breastfeeding. Any touch or graze to my nipples, breast is so painful, I want to scream. I am on anti-biot. and they keep STILL telling me their isn't anything they can do put to just keep putting warm compress and cold, that it will eventually go away! I told them if I? loose my breast, they will be hearing from my lawyer.

I've lost weight, too fast. I mean. It's crazy! You said you had an "aspiration performed on you" Maybe I can suggest that. It's like they are not trying to even poke anything. Its VERYYYYYY painful., I was not about to be breast feeding w/ this? mess to this baby. YES I had pus and blood on have of the nipple coming out! I was scared. O'man'

@TheAFwifey? I'm not a midwife but I'd go to the what ever Emergency care they have available and request to be put on anitbiotics and have and actual doctor diagnose you. Remeber its your life so if they keep giving you the run around DEMAND someone help you.

I am an Air Force wife and where we are stationed they do not have a lactation consultant anymore...the base Dr.'s are not working with me and every time I try to even contact a midwife for advise they say they are not ablet to talk and send me to a nurse where I am not finding answers...so? frustrating...I do have a hand pump but I'm not getting much maybe 1 oz...and I need to get more than that to relieve the situation..any midwife on here have advise??

I found you because I think I am battling Mastitus..I feel like I have? the flu , and am extremely exhausted. I am a first time mom and my baby is almost 4 months old. He is sleeping longer and I think I have too much milk..I am trying to pump the ecess off but then I keep producing more milk..I know you are supposed to produce milk supply on demand...so how long does it take for your body to adjust to a baby's new sleeping patterns and is pumping actually creating more of a problem...

I wish I had seen this video a year ago. I was totally? uninformed about mastitis. Thankfully, my case was not as bad as your because I realized something was wrong early on...but this is very helpful!

Whoooo! GIRL! I've heard of mastitis but never really looked into it. Doctors don't say anything unless you have a problem. I am totally clueless about this whole pregnancy thing and everything that goes along with it. Glad I found your channel. I keep telling my friends that there's so much that no one ever talks about concerning pregnancy. I am so glad that you are willing to share your experiences.?
